A BAC-guided Improved assembly of A virus resistance locus in cassava
Our team has just released an improved assembly of the CMD2 locus which is associated with resistance against geminiviruses in cassava. This important step will be instrumental to uncover the mechanisms of natural resistance against DNA virus diseases in crop plants.
A new bioinformatics pipeline for in-depth profiling of viruses in their host plants
In collaboration with Emweb and as part of the EU project Virtigation led by TCI, a new pipeline generating full-length sequences of circular DNA viruses has been released. The new ONT-based method highlights some key features of circular DNA viruses including rapid evolution by mutation and the presence of partial genomic components
